Anna Rice is a multiple-award winning screen composer, songwriter, arranger and music producer from Ireland. 

She became the first Irish composer to win a prestigious Camille Award (European Film Composer Award) in 2024 for her score to Ollie Aslin and Gary Lennon's I Dream in Photos (Gambit Pictures)  in the category Best Original Score for a Feature Documentary. 

Anna's scores and songs can be heard onscreen worldwide, including David Merriman and Jim Sheridan's upcoming feature Re-Creation (starring Vicky Krieps, Aidan Gillen, John Connors and Colm Meaney) Ruán Magan’s Our Blue World - A Water Odyssey, narrated by Liam Neeson (Create One / Blue World Studios), the theme song to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (The Weinstein Co/Netflix), ‘Take Me To Shanghai’ from The Wasted Times, Ian Hislop's Age of the Do-Gooders (BBC / Wingspan Productions), the Abbey Theatre and National Theatre's inaugural collaborative production, Juno and the Paycock starring Ciarán Hinds and Sinéad Cusack. 

Anna has worked extensively in animation, having scored and written songs for over 200 episodes of children's TV. She has scored four long-form series (52 x 11min) (composer / songwriter credit) including Captain Filnn and the Pirate Dinosaurs (SLR / Telegael / ZDF Enterprises), Seasons 1 & 2 of Rob Dyrdek’s Wild Grinders (Homeplate Entertainment / Telegael / Nicktoons), Lucky Fred season 2 (Imira / Toonz / Telegael) and theme songs for Mondo Yan (Toonz / Telegael) and Zombie Hotel  (Alphanim / BBC / Magma). Anna recently founded Ash and Harold - a collaborative music studio specialising in composition for animation.

Across her twenty-year career she has produced songs and written arrangements featuring a host of acclaimed performers including Lang Lang, Gidon Kremer, Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Andrea Corr, Avishai Cohen, Donal Lunny, Máirtín O'Connor and Zoë Conway, The Chieftains, Moxie, Cara Dillon, Joseph, Jam Hsiao and Coco Lee. She has written for numerous orchestras worldwide, including the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, the Hallé, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Galaxy Studios Symphony Orchestra as well as all the major performing orchestras on the island of Ireland. 

Anna collaborated with Paddy Moloney for over a decade, orchestrating his works for The Chieftains' live concerts worldwide. She worked with acclaimed Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi for many years, orchestrating in 2015 his violin concerto for Gidon Kremer “The Japanese Four Seasons.” She arranged and produced Umebayashi's score for Chimerica (Channel 4 / Playground Entertainment), orchestrated his scores for Gordon Chan's God of War, the E3 Trailer for Sony Playstation's Ghost of Tsushima and The Wasted Times (dir. Cheng Er). 

Anna produced, arranged and orchestrated “The Christmas Album” for Andrea Corr, released in 2022. The album reached a solo career-best position in the UK Official Charts for the artist.

Anna is an alumna of The Royal College of Music in London, Trinity College Dublin and the prestigious ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. She has been a recipient of numerous bursaries and awards including from The Arts Council of Ireland, IMRO and The Bill Whelan Music Bursary.

She has served as a panel judge for the BAFTA TV Awards, Ivor Novello Awards and the Irish Film & Television Awards and on the board of directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland.
